Liberato Troia, 87 of Monaca passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 10, 1934 in Bagnaturo, Salmona, Italy, he was a son of the late Mario Troia and Maria Otaviona Rosati-Troia.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Elisa Mastramico Troia, his devoted children, Joanne and her husband Joseph Colatruglio and Liberato Troia, Jr. and former daughter in law, Diane Troia. His cherished grandchildren: Lisa Colatruglio, Mary Jo and Norman Barksby, Joseph Colatruglio and Elizabeth Troia. His only great grandson, Xavier Barksby. He also leaves a brother in law, Pasquale Mastramico, brother in law and sister in law, Virginia and Nino Cercone, sisters in law, Dora Troia and Alana Troia (Italy). Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ferando and Donato Troia. His mother in law and father in law, Guy and Anna Mastramico. Brother in law and sister in law, Michael and Velia Mastramico, brother in law and sister in law, Guy and Maria Marchionda, sister in law, Lucy Marchionda, brother in law Philip Mastramico, and two nieces Anna DiCicco and Maura Liberdi.
Liberato was employed at J & L Steel Corp for 19 years and later at Monaca School District for 15 years. A handyman of sorts, he enjoyed tinkering doing odd jobs. He was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
Friends will be received on Friday April 8th from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm at SIMPSON FUNEAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 am at Mary , Queen of Saints Parish (St John the Baptist Catholic Church), Monaca. Entombment will follow in Beaver Cemetery Mausoleum.
