Lisa Garrett Mumaw Nicely, 63, of West Aliquippa, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at her residence, following a prolonged illness.Born June 6, 1953, in Sewickley, she was a daughter of the late Agnes (Ayers) Garrett and Orville Garrett. Lisa was Christian by faith and is survived by her loving husband, John, who cared for her endlessly these past eight years. They were married on June 6, 1997.Also left to morn her loss are her three sons and their families, William (Dana) Mumaw of York, SC, Stephen (Jill) Mumaw of Center Township and Jonathan Mumaw of Aliquippa; two step-children, Ronette (Bill) Waddell of Freedom and John Nicely, Jr. of Baden; eight wonderful grandchildren; her only sibling, Rebecca Fogg of Aliquippa; an aunt and uncle, Naomi and Omer McGee of Pittsburgh; four nephews and a niece, and two cousins.In addition to her parents Lisa was preceded in death by her step-mother, Betty Garrett; two brothers-in-law, James Fogg and Ken Nicely and a sister-in-law, Canda Wilson and her husband, George. She will be greeted in Heaven by her little dog and best companion, Schultz.Friends will be received Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Rev. Dr. Don Scandrol, Chaplain at VITAS Healthcare, will officiate.Interment will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.The family has suggested memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of VITAS Hospice.
