Luella G. Reese, 82, of Monaca, passed away Saturday evening, August 1, 2015 in the loving presence of her family in her home.Born January 16, 1933, in Lowell, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Agatha (Crosby) Starcher. Following graduation from Waterford (Ohio) High School, Luella was united in marriage to Edward P. Reese on December 24, 1952 in Zelienople. Her husband, Edward, was a native of Brady’s Bend, PA.The couple had three children: Edward P. Reese, Jr. who resides in Monaca; Charlene Reese and her husband, Joseph Musgrave of Cincinnati, Ohio and Barbara Holley and her husband, Richard of Monaca. She was “Nan” to her two grandsons, Richard L. Holley, Jr. and Kenneth E. Holley and to her four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Peyton Holley and Mackenzie and Isabella Holley. She also leaves six siblings: Delores Wanner, Loretta (Babe) Doll, Stanley Starcher, Larry Starcher, Sue Maltby and Wanda Starcher.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, on November 24, 2002 and by three siblings, Vernon, Doy and George Starcher.Luella was a determined and accomplished lady who succeeded in whatever task or project she undertook. After mastering something, she moved on to another endeavor. In 1991, she retired from Sears as a department manager following 20 years of employment. Over the years, she was the recipient of numerous customer service awards for her dedication and service. Luella was an active member of the Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Perrin Society and the Colonial Dames of America. She was also a member of the Monaca United Methodist Church.Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-728-4000), where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev.
