Lyda D. Hood, 93, a longtime resident of Center Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2015, at Friendship Ridge.Born October 25, 1921, in Center Township, she was the last surviving child of the late George W. and Catherine (Bragg) Fath. She was united in marriage to Harry E. Hood, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 10, 2013. A homemaker, she and Harry lived in Center Township until 1991 when they moved to New Brighton to be closer to family members. Lyda enjoyed flower gardening, dancing and camping with her husband in Warren County.In addition to her husband and parents, Lyda was preceded in death by a brother, George J. Fath, and four sisters, Anna Summerville, Elizabeth Braddock, Catherine Fath and most recently, Bertha George on June 4, 2015.She leaves three nephews, George W. Fath and his wife, Donna, of New Brighton, Wayne L. Fath and his wife, Lillian, of New Brighton and George Summerville and his wife, Louise, and their family of Center Township, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.Friends will be received Sunday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Rev.
