Margaret E. ?Peg? Clear, 80, of Monaca, passed away Tuesday morning, September 6, 2011, in Trinity Oaks Care Centers, Beaver.
Born August 3, 1931, in Rochester, she was the last surviving child of the late James and Nellie (Wise) Ward. Peg was married for 45 years to William R. ?Dick? Clear, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 20, 1993. A member of Rochester Free Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and a loving grandmother. Peg enjoyed bingo, reading and watching her soap operas.
She leaves two sons, William R. Clear, Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Rochester and Robert L. Clear Sr. and his wife, Theresa, of New Brighton; five grandchildren, Jason Clear, Christopher (Judy Rice) Clear, Rachel (John Jr.) Book, Jill (Jordan Snyder) Clear, and Robert Clear, Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Haily Clear, Chloe Clear, Travis Clear, John ?Trey? Book III, Nick Rice, Lucas Rice and Charleigh Book and four sisters-in-law, Geraldine Mayhue, Sandy (Dan) Sommerville, Alice (Chuck) Auld and Shirley Clear.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peg was preceded in death by a beloved grandson, Chad E. Clear, on April 4, 2009; six siblings, Ted, Betty Jane, Tootie, John, Tom and Babe; three brothers-in-law, Gerald Clear, Donald Mayhue and James Clear and two sisters-in-law, Doris Willmott and Ethel Clear.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rochester Free Methodist Church, 480 Jefferson Street, Rochester, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Mel McRoberts officiating and retired pastor, Rev. Robert Singleton, assisting.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Trinity Oaks and Gateway Hospice for the care Peg received during her stay.
