Margaret “Margie” J Evans

Margaret J. ‘Margie’ Evans, 92 of Monaca passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Cambridge Village, Patterson Township where she has resided for the past six years.
Born in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Sarah M. Kirchner and a graduate of Monaca High School and a 1950 graduate of the former Beaver Valley General Hospital School of Nursing, New Brighton. Margaret’s husband, Herbert W Evans served in the U S Air Force as a pilot for a number of years. During this time, Margaret was employed at various military hospitals as a registered nurse. Following Herbert’s discharge from the military, the couple made their home in Monaca and Margaret gained employment with Rochester Hospital as a nurse and later with Thrift Drug Stores in their Lose Prevention Department. Margie was a member of Redeemer Trinity Lutheran Church, Monaca.
She leaves three sons: Keith (Kathy) Evans of Peachtree City, GA., Phillip A Evans of N. Canton, OH and Jay A (Donna) Evans of Canton, OH. A daughter in law, Libby Evans of Phoenix, AZ. Eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Three siblings: Harry Kirchner of Monaca, Kathleen (Dave) Householder of Columbus, OH and Elaine (Dan) Milligan, New Sewickley Twp.
In addition to her mother and her husband, Herbert in 2004, she was preceded in death by a son, David Evans and a brother, Thomas McPadden.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with her pastor, Reverend Angela Smith, officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Rochester.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired in Margaret’s memory to the Greater Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Association or the Redeemer Trinity Lutheran Church, 819 Washington Ave., Monaca, PA 15061
