Margaret L. Robbie, 94 formerly of Center Township, went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her late husband, George on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Her passing occurred at Beaver Meadows where she was currently residing.
Born September 30, 1925 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Isabella (Stineogle) Douglass.
She will be sadly missed by her children; George William (Brenda) Robbie, Gayle Marie Robbie, Robert Loyd (Ka) Robbie , Mark Allen (Sharon) Robbie, grandchildren; Jim (Marea) Robbie, Donna Michelle Robbie, Robbie (Denise) Schmidt, Randy Allen Schmuck, Robert (Rachel) Robbie, and William Alexander Robbie, great grandchildren; Ava and Ali Robbie, Sawyer and Dawson Schmidt, Samantha Lipscomb, Brett and Vincent Grabe, great-great grandchildren; Gunyr and Madelyn.
Last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George I. Robbie on April 21, 2013, her brothers; Charles, Nelson H., Vernon, Stanley, Sam W., Paul, Elijah P., Leonard, and Raymond Douglass, three sisters; Sylvia Motter, Grace Pierce, and Isabell Musser.
Margaret lead an active life. For over 17 ½ years she was employed as the head cashier with the Center Township School District, worked for Meals on Wheels for 12 years, was an assistant Girl Scout Leader for Troop # 47 in Center Township, a member of the PTA where she was the magazine chairman, did quilting and made many crocheted items plus afghans. Margaret was a longtime member of the North Branch Presbyterian Church where she assisted in funerals and luncheons. She also belonged to the Bible Study group, taught Sunday school for 4 years and took many canoe trips with her church. She more recently attended the Bunker Hill Community Church. After her retirement, she traveled with her husband all over the United States, Canada, and two times to Alaska.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where a service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am with the Reverend Ross Fichter officiating. Interment will folloe in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to Bunker Hill Community Church, 170 Pleasant Drive, Aliquippa, PA 15001 or the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Avenue, # 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
