Margaret “Margie” O. Short Boyer Fox, 80, of Monaca, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, Pennsylvania.Born March 4, 1937, In Monaca, she was the oldest daughter of Blaine E. and Marie Olivia(Dockter)Short, Center Township. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Raymond J. Boyer, Aliquippa, second husband, Dawson “Eugene” Fox, Monaca, daughter Cynthia “Cindy” Barto, Center Township, and son-in-law, Anthony DiBacco, Monaca.Margie was a retiree of Kaufmann’s, having worked in the hosiery department at the Rochester and Beaver Valley Mall stores for more than 25 years. She was also an accomplished seamstress and needlewoman, making many of her own clothes and quilts, and whose knitted dishcloths were treasured by her family. “Eighty years young,” Margie was very active in the lives of her extended family and used her leisure time singing at karaoke at several venues, dancing at the Meadows, and enjoying donuts and coffee with friends and family at the DeAngelis Donut Shop.Margie was a warm, witty, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, with a special style all her own, and full and active life, who will be greatly missed by her children, Sheila DiBacco of Monaca, Joseph R. Boyer of Belleville, Michigan, Raymond G. Boyer, with who she made her home in Monaca, Sharan Shuty, of Charleroi, Diana(John)Novaselec of Aliquippa, and son-in-law, Charles Barto of Center Township; 2 step-daughters, Glenda(Rick)Cockrum of Monaca, and Diana(Bill)Renda of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren, and 12 step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Blaine Short of New Brighton, four sisters, Elizabeth(Nicholas)Lubich of Center Township, Jeanne Callicut of North Carolina, Linda Sutphin of Cranberry Township, Marion Short of Trinity, North Carolina, and Elaine(Richard)Sigelow of Rochester, Minnesota, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews.Friends received on Tuesday, August 15 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Svcs., 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
