Martha R. Houser, 72, of Monaca, entered Heaven on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
She was born in Rochester on May 22, 1941, a daughter of the late David R. and Eva K. (Shively) Houser. Martha had previously been employed at the Phoenix Glass Co. in Monaca and more recently at the Monaca CVS Pharmacy. Martha was a very giving person who loved and gave to her family and friends before thinking of herself.
She leaves a large family consisting of five surviving siblings and their families: Donald (Joyce) Houser in Texas; Janet (Allen) Dalton of Ohioville; David A. (Shari) Houser of Chico, CA; Dennis W. (Roberta) Houser of Monaca and Sue (Rick) Yardic of Bridgewater, and numerous nieces and nephews. Martha also leaves two special friends, Dottie and Francie; her beloved and faithful canine companion, Spanky, and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Houser, and a sister, Jeanie Gillin.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-728-4000), where services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. A. Patrice Weirick, officiating. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family wishes to extend a note of gratitude to the Critical Care Unit, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Respiratory Therapy Unit at Heritage Valley Hospital, Beaver, as well as Dr. Sturm and Associates and a special thanks to Debbie Glasser for being there for them.
