When we were kids, we spent the summers playing pick-up baseball at the ball fields of Baden-Economy Jr. High school....one day, a group of boys from Conway came up and joined us playing baseball--and Marty was their 'leader'. Even then, he was a 'commanding' presence--most of us were in awe of his size, booming voice, and hearty laugh. I can't remember if he was any good at baseball, but we had a great time--everyone had lots of fun! Later, I think it was the early '80's--like others-- riding in his big Buick convertible through Beaver County singing oldies....what our songs lacked in quality, we made up in volume! The gas crunch back then didn't intimidate Marty--he loved his big gas hog! I don't think ANYTHING could intimidate Marty! I saw him occasionally on the RR--but we worked in different departments. I haven't seen him in ages, but my sincerest condolences go out to all of his many friends and family--the world will be a poorer place, with Marty not in it, but now he's singing the oldies in Heaven--God bless you Marty!

I was so sorry to read of Marty's passing. We handled his insurance for MANY YEARS, and so enjoyed his visits to the office to make payments, or just stopped in to say hello and share a few stories to make us laugh. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends, especially that all that who knew & loved him couldn't celebrate his life in this pandemic world.

I am so very sorry to hear of Mart'y passing. My sympathy to his family and all of his friends. I met Marty in June of 1976 at a friends house. He was always very nice and had kind words to say about everyone. He always treated me with kindness and respect. Although i haven't seen him since May of 1977 he will always be in my heart. Rest in peace Marty and i hope that one day we can all celebrate our new life together in heaven.

Growing up in Conway, no one would make me laugh quite like Marty. He was a genuinely funny man, who my mom loved to see when he came around our home. Deepest sympathy to the family.

Marty, it all started in Freedom High School, where I met you. Later we worked together with your dad at the Edgeworth Club, (your dad was the best chef around)., and he always gave me good advice to live by. The laughs we shared when you stopped by my brother Eddies' house, and thank you for all the laughter you brought into my life, ( especially those super 8 movies that you used to make). You will be truly missed my friend. Prayers to your family .

My deepest sympathy to Marty’s family. I have known him since I was a little girl since he grew up with my parents. I always enjoyed talking to him at the store or gas station hearing stories of when they were young swimming in my grandparents pool. He always told me to tell my Mom and a Dad hello. I’m gonna miss seeing him cruising around Conway and hearing his funny stories!

I am so sad to hear about Marty. He was a special guy that made an entire room smile when he walked in. I knew him many years ago when we were in our teens and we rode around in his 68 green Rivera convertible with the radio blasting as we sang (now oldies) loudly. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers today.
