Martin L. McCullough, 93 of Center Township, PA. passed away peacefully on Sunday,
January 23, 2022 at his home in Center Township, surrounded by his loving family.
Martin “Mac” was born on March 28, 1928 in Center Township, PA and was the son of
Martin F. and Helen E. McCullough. Mac was preceded in death by his loving wife of
50 years, Dorothy “Dot” McCullough (Dooley) and is survived by his children: Martin
(Jacque) McCullough, Michael (Jane) McCullough,Mark McCullough and Susan (Paul)
Roscher; his grandchildren: Abby (Adam) Scott, David (Haley)McCullough, Matthew
(Kathleen) McCullough, Stephanie Roscher, John (Cait) McCullough, Mitchell McCullough,
Jenny Roscher, Mason (Ally) McCullough, and Charlotte Roscher,; three great-grand-
children: Riley Scott, Harrison Scott and Harlow Scott; as well as numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mac graduated from Monaca High School in 1946 and enlisted in the U S Navy at the con-
clusion of World War II. He then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree
in pre-medical studies at Geneva College. While at Geneva, Mac was recruited by the
Central Intelligence Agency and went on to serve in post-war Germany. At the conclusion
of Mac’s service with the CIA, he was employed by St.Joseph Mineral Company as a
Lab Technician and then by Neville Chemical Company, where he worked until his retire-
ment as a Senior Chemist.
Mac was a life-long member and Trustee Emeritus of the Monaca United Methodist Church
and was a Warrant Member of Monaca-Center Lodge #791 F.& A.M. He enjoyed bowling in
his church-sponsored league, eating fried fish on Fridays and spending time with his
friends and family. Mac loved making people laugh and was known for his keen sense of
humor. He will be surely be missed by all who knew him.
Mac’s family would like to thank the staff and nurses of VITAS Hospice that provided
compassionate care and comfort during his final months. Mac has requested donations
be made to the Monaca United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
Friends are respectfully invited to visit on Thursday, January 27th from 2 – 4 pm
and 6 -8 pm at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca,
PA. followed by a visitation on Friday from 10 am until the time of service at 11
am at the Monaca United Methodist
Church, 813 Indiana Avenue, Monaca. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial
Park with full military honors at 12:30 pm.
The Monaca-Center Lodge #791 F. & A.M. will conduct a service on Thursday evening at
7:30 pm at the funeral home.
