Mary Catherine Biaganti Pieta (affectionally known as “Bea”), 84, passed away peacefully in her home on December 1, 2022.
Bea grew up in Freedom where she attended school, married, and raised her son. Prior to retirement, she worked for the Freedom Area School District.
Bea was born January 9, 1937, to the late Domenic and Josephine Biagianti. Also preceded in death were her sister Gloria Diklich, brother Ernest Biagianti, sisters-in-law Peggy Goerman and Katherine Biagianti, brothers-in-law Charles Diklich, William Baxter, Ronald Froehly, Robert Wright and family friend Ray Franz.
Surviving is her son Anthony Pieta, his wife Abigail, her brother Joseph, sisters Rose Ann Froehly and Donna Wright and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bea was known as an incredibly kind woman who impacted the lives of her friends and family in positive ways. She worried about us all, offered comfort to us in our times of need and celebrated our successes no matter how small. She was a devoted mother to her son and daughter-in-law. We will miss her sorely and remember her fondly always.
Please celebrate Bea with her family at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Felix Church in Freedom on Friday, December 9 at 10:00 am followed by a committal service in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Freedom and lunch at Shakespeare’s Restaurant and Pub, 1495 Mercer Rd., Ellwood City PA.
