Mary E. Kalcevic Fetchin, 92, of Monaca, passed away Sunday morning, August 14, 2011, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 13, 1919, in Fallston, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Kalcevic and widow of the late John Fetchin who preceded her on March 3, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John and his wife, Margaret Kalcevic of Beaver Falls, and two sisters, Anna M. and her husband Ed A. Rowan of Monaca and Frances L. Fath of Monaca.
Mrs. Fetchin was a graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1937 and Mt. Mercy School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, class of 1940.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Calvin L. Fath; three nephews, Edward J. and wife, Ann D. Rowan of Monaca; Michael T. and wife, Ilene Rowan of Monaca and John J. Kalcevic of Beaver Falls; a niece, Mary Margaret and husband, Tom Buksa of Beaver Falls, and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of parting prayers at 10:30 a.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Her pastor, Rev. Fr. George Chortos, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Mary’s hospice nurses, Amy Stedila and Jeff Irwin, for the compassionate care that was given to Mary. The family also wishes to thank parish Eucharistic minister Anita Alberti for her participation and kindness to Mary.
