Mary Ellen Muron, 85 of Rochester a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023. Born in Darlington, Pennsylvania, raised in Rochester Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Dillon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob ‘Jack’ Muron, in 2016, and an infant son. She was the last of her 10 siblings: Walter Dillon, Richard Dillon, Clarence Collins, Alfred Dillon, Edward Dillon, Carol Waddell, Irene Campbell, Betty Campbell, Dorothy Wiltrout, and Sandy Kennedy. Her legacy is carried on by her four daughters, Mary Jane (Phil) Yevics, Debbie Bailey (Partner Bud Weigle), Brenda McNear (Partner Mark Hawthorne), and JoAnne Seevers.
Mary Ellen was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Nicholas (Jillian) Yevics, Sarah (Alex) Beccia, Jason Bailey and Jackie, Stephen (Dawna) Bailey, Jessica (David) Lopez, Paul (Priscilla) Riley, Rachel (Keith) McNeely, David Bailey and Holly, Kamie (Travis) Blake, and Edward Yevics. She also held a special place in her heart for her 32 great-grandchildren and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen had a long career as a purchasing agent for the healthcare industry. Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life and into her community involvement. She was a Past Madam President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and maintained membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Eastern Star.
Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Mary Ellen was a woman of many interests and talents. She had a great love for painting, singing, reading, and sewing, hobbies that brought her much joy and fulfillment. However, her greatest joy was found in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she loved to play and spend time.
She attended the Rochester Free Methodist Church. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 1st from 4 to 9 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the time of service at 10:30 am at SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, 724 728 4000. with Pastor Chuck Thomas, officiating. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
