Mary Jane (Fath) Harcher, 81, a lifelong resident of Monaca went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.
Born March 11, 1930 in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Abraham L. and Mary (Summerville) Fath.
Mary Jane was a longtime member of the VanKirk Lutheran Church in Center Twp. and enjoyed bowling as a pastime.
She had a strong work ethic and during her working years traveled daily into Station Square, Pittsburgh to a job she held with the P & LE Railroad. She also had a sense of humor and a deep and abiding love for her family and friends.
She leaves two daughters: Linda Zupsic and her husband, Ronald of Center Twp. and Marjorie Meriwether and her husband, Jim of Bergholz, OH. A son, Andrew Harcher of Monaca. A brother, Calvin (the late Frances) Fath of Monaca and a sister in law, Evelyn Fath of Beaver. Many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Fred (Pauline) Fath, David (Mildred) Fath and Robert J. Fath. A sister, Katherine (John) Goss.
Friends will be received Monday, Dec 19th from 1-4 and 6-9 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday at 11 am. Her pastor, the Reverend A. Patrice Weirick will officiate
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In accordance with her compassion for animals, the family has suggested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Beaver County Humane SocietyP> O> Box 63, Monaca, PA. 15061.
