Mary Kyle Watson, 80, of Monaca, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Friendship Ridge, Beaver.
Mary was a local canteen volunteer during World War II and secretary of the Amoqui Chapter of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology. She was a member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, the Monaca Legion Auxiliary, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church choir, and several square and round dancing groups. She was previously employed by the Pittsburgh Mercantile Store in Aliquippa, and Gladios in Coraopolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Watson; her parents, Vernon F. and Mary Catherine (McConnell) Kyle; a brother, Max Kyle; a granddaughter, Cassandra Rose Alam, and a great-grandson, Shane Evan Barkfelt.
Surviving family members include daughters, Janine Watson, Monaca; Elaine Brubaker and her husband Burton, Oak Ridge, TN, and Adrienne Yohe and her husband Richard, Temple, TX; a son Richard and his wife Elaine, Temple, TX; grandchildren, Eric Brubaker, Austin, TX; Rachael Ash and her husband Logan, Temple, TX; Sarah Fitzgerald and her husband Tom, Sydney, Australia; Anna and David Alam, Temple, TX, and Richard Barkfelt and his wife Crystal, Ambridge; great-grandsons, Logan Ash, Temple, TX, and Joshua Barkfelt, Ambridge, and a brother, William Kyle and his wife Virginia, Monaca.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 13, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-775-0926), where prayers will be offered on Thursday, June 14, 2007, at 1 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1:30 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
