I am thinking of Missy today on the anniversary of her passing. Missy is forever in the hearts of those who new her. Her expressive blue eyes and smile will always be remembered.

Missy had a special friend in school at The Watson Institute. They first became acquainted in Ms. Robin's classroom. Often when they sat next to each other they would look at each other and smile. They felt a common bond. They both moved to different classrooms and were separated for a few years. When they were reunited in classroom B3 they immediately recognized each other and smiled. Often when they sat next to each other, one or the other would reach out to touch hands. A simple, but oh so meaningful gesture. After a couple years together in B3 they were separated again for a few more years. But if they saw each other while waiting for the bus at the end of the day...the connection was still there. Missy and her special friend Daryn were to be in the same classroom again this school year. Unfortuately they did not have the opportunity to reconnect this school year...but it is heartwarming to know that they each had the opportunity to meet and share a special friendship at the Watson Institute.

Last may and June I got to sub at Watson as an aide in many different classrooms. Missy always had a smilie on her face and was such a sweet girl. I didnt get to know her as well as alot Of people do at Watson but she was a sweetheart. This year I'm a aide in the room she was to return to and it broke my heart to know she passed away. My prayers go out to the Michele family during this hard time. Rip missy you will be missed.

Patty, Rachael and Jim, I just don't have the words to say how sorry I am for your loss. Missy was very special to me. I loved taking her off of the bus and making her laugh on the way to class. She was a very special young lady, but you know that better than anyone. Even after leaving Watson, I have thought of her often, regretting that I never had the chance to say good-bye to her. I will always think of her spirit as laughing and dancing, and free. I hope that you will find peace of mind and heart. I don't think she would want you to be too sad for too long. I believe she will be near you in spirit, turning the tables and watching over you, as you did for her. Feel hugged Patty, and remember to take care of yourself a little now. love kath

I did not have the opportunity to meet Melissa; however, I have spoken w/Patty in regard to Melissa's nursing schedule. Patty has such kindness and warmth in her voice and her love for Melissa is so very evident. Her concern for Melissa's well-being and happiness was beautiful. For the short time that I have been in contact with Patty, I feel blessed to have witnessed the strong love she and Melissa share.
