St. John the Baptist Catholic Church was filled with family and friends united in their love and respect for a great man and just a wonderful human being. Memories were shared that evoked many tears but also SMILES with stories of cherished times spent with him - pictures from the past that helped to ease some of the sorrow, offering a bit of comfort to the grieving. The sun shone brightly on the long procession through the river towns so familiar to Michael throughout his precious life. Perhaps this was God Himself adding a heavenly smile for a life well lived.

Mike, you were bigger than life in many ways. You looked at something and soon you knew what needed to be done. You then would have a wonderful conversion with the participants. As a friend you connected like few can do! We'll miss you greatly!

Dear Teta Mary, David (Bea), Rosann (Bill and Nicholas)Our hearts are broken and are feeling your pain. Although many miles separateus, we have always found the time (happy or sad) to support each other, for this is what our parents and grandparents taught us - The family bond is strong. I found the following words, which I think explain it all:Our family chain is broken now,And nothing will be the same,But as God calls us one by one,The chain will link again.God has Michael in his arms.He was loved by all and will be missed. Vicnaja Jemu Pamjat! - Eternal Memory! With all our love, The Salony, Stack, Tymus, Halama, & Vislocky, Ochlan Families (from NY and NJ) as well as his family in Litmanova and Jarabina Slovakia (Halama & Salon Families)

Mike and I have been good friends since 6th grade. Mike was one of my heroes. A friend with a kind heart and a gentle soul. Sat. night I was thinking about the DUNE Buggy. All of mikes' old friends will remember that and so many other great, fun times we had together; The giraffe Joe and mike made and trotted through Jerry's with Mike and Joe inside the costume. So many fun times. I have not come to grips that my friend is gone. I'll get there because Mike was one of the people who taught me to live life on life's terms. I will miss you. Your Buddy, Freddy Boy

I am so very sad and sorry; the world lost a gem beyond description. My favorite cousin and lifelong friend- how did life go by so fast? Wasn't it just yesterday when your whole family came to Ohio for the weekend and we were riding bikes down the street? Who will I take shots with at weddings? Who will tell me the funniest stories in the world? I love you so much! This hole in my heart will never heal, my sorrow will never ease, the pain will never go away. I will pray for you until the day I die. Mary, David & Roseanne...I don't know what you will do without him. I will miss everything about him. I am so very, very sorry. I love you Michael! May God grant you eternal memory and a peaceful repose. Vicnaja Pamjat.
