Marjorie and family, my deepest sympathy in the loss of your little brother. I was shocked this morning to see such a familiar name from back home in Rittman in my Pittsburgh paper. It's been many years since I last saw you, but remember our younger days with great pleasure. Playing in the woods behind your house with the Shook and Kindig and Trogden kids. Starting the new school on Metzger St. Brownie scouts with my mom. Hope you all can remember those good times too.

It is with the greatest sadness that I learned of Mick's passing. He was a brilliant scientist, but he was an even better person. He spent his life advancing a material that make the world a better place and teaching others how to achieve those benefits. As such, he spent his life making the world a better place. I will miss him, as a scholar, but more as a colleague and friend.
