Mildred “Millie” M. McCullough, 92 of Potter Township, passed away Friday morning, January 8, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born in Brooklyn Village, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jaroslav and Marie (Kratochvil) Marsik. Mildred graduated from Brooklyn High School (Ohio) class of 1946. She worked at the Cleveland Library and attended college until she met and married John R. McCullough on September 4, 1948. Mildred was married for 65 years and lived in her home until her death. She loved camping, traveling, watching the birds, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Earl) Bowser of New Martinsville, WV and two grandsons, Douglas of Las Vegas, NV, and Philip (Suzanne) of New Martinsville, WV, three great-granddaughters, Penelope, Gwendolyn, and Rosalie, a sister-in-law, Patricia McCullough of Zelienople, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John R. McCullough, brother, Myron Marsik, brother-in-law, William Frank McCullough, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Helen (McCullough) Stuehling.
As per Mildred’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will take place at John Anderson Cemetery, Raccoon Township at a later date.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made, if desired, to New Martinsville Public Library, 160 Washington Street, New Martinsville, WV 26155.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
