Nancy Fronko Barber, 85, a lifelong resident of Monaca passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
She was a daughter of the late John and Stella (Guzik) Fronko. Blessed with a witty and outgoing personality, Nancy had a unique gift of being the center of attention. She excelled in gymnastics her whole life and in 1956 tried out for the Summer Olympics. After majoring as a fitness instructor at Slippery Rock University, Nancy taught gymnastics, belly dancing, dancersize, yoga, aerobics and swimming throughout Beaver and Allegheny counties. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca and a Christian Mother, as well as a member of the former Monaca Jr. Women’s Club and Monaca High School Alumni Reunion committee. In 2008, she won the title of Miss Senior of Beaver County. As she got older and unable to practice gymnastics, she put her energy to use by laminating sports articles for Central Valley High School. She truly lived life to the fullest.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Frank Barber, a daughter Tish Barber-Tokarski, sons Richard (Carolyn) Barber and Scott Barber, grandchildren Chad (Rachel) Tokarski, Ali Tokarski, Haley Tokarski, Brad (Emily) Barber, Brett (Megan) Barber and Brittany Barber and great-grandchildren Eli Tokarski, C.J.
