Nancy Jean Day

Nancy Jean Day, 84 of Norfolk, Virginia passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017 at her home  where she lived with her daughter Linda Day.Born on March 30,1933 to Emogene and Clarence Burlett of Economy.She is survived by two loving daughters, Linda Day in Virgina and Sandra Woods of Ambridge. Nancy had four grandchildren, Greg, Jesse, Jessica and Michelle; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Ms Nancy retired from the Beaver Valley Medical Center. Following her retirement she enjoyed a fulfilling career as a foster grandparent at the Firststep program. She created unique handmade quilts which she donated to the children in the program and passed on her skill of quilt making to her great grandchildren. Her hobbies included painting, quilting, traveling and enjoying life with her friends and family. She is now reunited with her loving son Louis “Jesse” Day, her sister, Mary Simpson and her great grandson, Ryu Sarver where they will watch over their loved ones together.A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, December 5, from 4 pm until the time of service at 6pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
