MY FIRST TEACHING JOB OUT OF COLLEGE WAS AT ALIQUIPPA JR. HIGH SCHOOL. MY WOOD SHOP WAS NEXT TO NICK'S METAL SHOP. I WAS VERY NERVOUS AND ANXIOUS. NICK WAS ALWAYS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL TO ME. I REMEMBER HIM ALWAYS VERY FONDLY. TIME PASSES AND WE LOSE TRACK OF IT SO I LEARNED OF HIS PASSING ON THIS COMPUTER. I FEEL EMPTY OVER NICK AND WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES OF KNOWING HIM AND OUR GREAT YEARS TOGETHER., FROM 1964 TO 1970 I SALUTE AND GIVE TRIBUTE TO YOU NICK. HOPE THIS MESSAGE GETS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS AFTER THIS TIME.

Nick was a wonderful man and an excellent educator. I was lucky to have Nick for a teacher and later taught with him at Aliquippa Middle School. As a new teacher, Nick took me under his wing and helped me start my professional career. Nick was the kind of man to help, support and guide me through my daily lessons. I am proud to say that I was influenced by Nick and learned so many classroom techniques. Nick also encouraged me to obtain my Masters degree. I became a middle school principal because of the encouragement from Nick. After 35 years I retired from education. I ran into Nick in the Monaca post office a few months ago. I was so happy to see him, he was the same old Nick. Just a wonderful man!!! I will miss him, he was a good mentor and great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.

They don't make 'em like Uncle Nick anymore. He was truly one in a million. While he was loyal to old friends and family, he was quick to open his heart to newcomers. My wife Pam and her dad Leo hit it off with Uncle Nick from the start- it was if they had known each other for years. He never hesitated to discipline his nephew when he acted up in class. But he also took a can of gas to that same nephew when he ran dry on the highway, and did it without a word of criticism. He knew when to let the situation speak for itself! Uncle Nick defined "tough love" before anyone had ever heard of that phrase. Whenever we were in the area it was always fun sitting at the breakfast table with him, drinking coffee and talking, or hoisting a couple of shots with him in the evening in the basement or at one his favorite local clubs. God bless, Uncle Nick,

To my Mary, Michael, David and Rosann (my 2nd family) I am saddened by the sudden loss of your loving husband and father. I now know more about Nick in his passing than I did while he was alive. He picked a great Gal to marry for starters. Mary, you and Nick raised some fantastic kids together, and your family has treated me with so much love and respect. I couldn't ask for a more loving and fun family to call my friends. I have wonderful memories of Nick, around that kitchen table of yours, he was always a marvelous host. Nick, Joe, Ralph & Christy must be having one heck of a time, walking the streets of Glory! To your entire family, my prayers to you in your loss. To Nick, for his Love of God, family and country, I say rest well in "The Mansions of the Lord"

Commare Mary, Michael, David, & Rosann,I have not stopped thinking about Nick since my mom told me Monday night. It was such a shock. My prayers have been dedicated to him these past days. I know how you are feeling since my Dad passed away suddenly also. But just as you are sadden by him leaving, I can just imagine some of his friends (my Dad, Joe Simoni, Ralph, and Uncle Frankie) were waiting for this moment to greet him in heaven and say It is about time you get here Nick! And Nick would probably just smile and be happy to see them again. And I am so sorry that I can't travel back to his funeral but the next time I am home I will stop by and see everyone and give you hugs. Take care. Love, Melissa

Still in shock that our beloved Uncle Nick is no longer with us-I loved his tough exterior, but on the inside a softie. So many pictures in my mind of him playing cards with my Dad, his Dad and Mary and Ann, driving me to college and back with the van, driving all the cousins around with KDKA and a ball game on the radio, grilling food at picnics- I loved that he was such a creature of habit but could surprise us all at times too- he was a good man, who loved simple things in life like his family, friends and will be greatly missed by us all. We know he is in a better place but are sad we dont have him here with us.

Mary, Michael, Rosann, David: I am so unbelievably sad about Nick's passing. He was such a Father figure to me as we all grew up together. I never knew where our family boundaries began or ended because I loved being with your family so much. He was always there for me through every celebration and every sad time. Always in the background, supporting me and my family. I know he is with my dad, Ralph, and Joe Simoni telling jokes at Christy's in Heaven and they will have their own Labor Day reunion. With so much love to you all...Joanne & Mario
