Niva Nolfi Costa, 73, of Economy Borough, died peacefully on Sunday, January 31, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, January 12, 1948, the daughter of the late Pasquale Nolfi and Ida (Capaldi) Nolfi, who immigrated from Bugnara, Italy.
Niva was a passionate and committed teacher and counselor at Beaver Area School District and the Ambridge Area School District. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Duquesne University and a Master’s Degree at the University of Pittsburgh. Always devoted and loyal to her friends and family, her memory will be cherished by many.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Douglas S. Costa; her Son Douglas N. Costa; her sister Antoinette (Larry) Means; her aunt and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She cherished and loved her friends like family, including her beloved “Card Club,” with whom she had an enduring and long-lasting bond.
Niva’s gift was the art of caring, kindness, and friendship.
