Norma M. Stauffer, 92, formerly of Monaca and currently of Brighton Township, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 24, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.Born February 3, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John and Doris (Clear) Werthman. A graduate of Rochester High School, Norma married her first husband, Claude Grogg, who was killed in action on April 6, 1945, while serving in the US Army during World War II. She was later united in marriage to Daniel F. Stauffer on April 8, 1948, and they enjoyed 58 years together until his passing on June 10, 2006. Norma was employed as a sales associate with Sears at Northern Lights Shopping Center and when they moved to the Beaver Valley Mall, she worked there prior to retiring. She enjoyed travelling to the beach and shopping with her beloved sister, Betty Mattes, who also preceded her in death on April 5, 2010. Some of her pastimes were dancing, playing pinochle, reading, crafting, and in her younger years, roller skating. While living at Francis Farmer Apartments in Brighton Township, she had fun playing dominos with her partners and visiting other friends, all of whom she loved dearly. Norma was a longtime member of Monaca United Methodist Church and the church’s Senior Methodist Organization (SMO’s) and United Methodist Women.She will be sadly missed by her three children, Roger Grogg of Monaca, Daniel Stauffer and his wife, Katie, of Rochester, IL, and Norma Jean Simpson and her husband, Dan, of Clinton; six grandchildren, Renee Williams, Crystal Smith, Roger Grogg, Jr., Stephen Krizan IV, Matthew Stauffer and Danielle Simpson; two great-grandchildren, Zina Grogg and Austin Williams; a brother, Charles Werthman of Monaca and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her first and second husbands and her sister, Betty, Norma was preceded in death by two brothers, William and John ‘Bull’ Werthman.Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with her pastor, Rev.
