Otto Gitts of Rochester walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the age of 33. He was born on May 31, 1986 and was a graduate of Rochester High School in 2004. He was currently attending Rosedale Technical College where he was in the top of his class. He was expected to graduate this Fall with a degree in Electrical Technology.
Otto had an undeniable passion for baseball that began at a very early age. In his Junior year of High School, he played for the Keystone State Baseball Academy. In his Senior year, he was selected for the Pennsylvania Blue-Gray Classic that was played at Jacksonville University. He was also one of the first players selected from Rochester for the WPIAL Baseball All-Star Team. He was currently playing shortstop in the ASA for Big Shot Bob’s.
Otto leaves a piece of himself behind in all of those that he loved. He is survived by his son Jaden; his one true love Rachel Jenista; his father Jamie Gitts and Sue; his brother Jeffrey Peternel and sister-in-law Ashley; two nieces Jaelyn and Audrey; his Grandma Hattie Gitts; his Uncle Jack and Aunt Cheryl Wheeler; his godparents Rich and Sherry Augustine; his mother Sarah Sternart; the Peternel family; the Snyder family; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who meant so much to him. A special thank you to his friends Anthony Warnick, Brad Nelson and Brandon Meyer who were such positive influences on his life.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 2 to 5 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10 AM followed immediately by a celebration of life at the American Legion, 600 Pennsylvania Ave, Monaca. All of those who knew and loved Otto are encouraged to join us in celebrating his memory.
