Patricia Ann Snyder, 85 of Monaca passed away on January 27, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at the Villa St Joseph Personal Care Center, Baden.
Born in Lockport, N Y., she was a daughter of Howard Madden and Eleanor (Witherow) Coakley
Pat and Stanley Snyder were united in marriage on September 24, 1955 and were blessed with four children from this union: Sherri (late Donald) Weber, Judi Snyder, Mark (Judy) Snyder and the late Susan Grannis. Five grandchildren: Drew Snyder, Tori Snyder, Lindsey Grannis, William Snyder and Sydney Grannis. A great grandchild, Braxton Snyder. A son in law, Robert Grannis.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley ‘Snip’ Snyder in 2005, a daughter Susan Grannis and her grandparents William and Clara Witherow who raised her. Pat had a life that was well lived. She shared her faith as an active and longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca where she served as a deacon and a member of the adult Sunday School class. Over the years, she shared her commitment and passion, serving on a number of boards supporting the community as past president of the Monaca Third Ward P.T.A. , past president of the Monaca #1 Firemen’s Auxiliary, past president of Presbyterian Women’s, founding member of the Monaca Bantam Basketball and founding member of the Monaca Alumni Scholarship Fund, she was a volunteer for Contact Beaver Valley and a representative of C.A.S.T. (Churches Are Serving Together) for the First Presbyterian Church of Monaca. She also was a member of the “55 Card Club” and the former Monaca Junior Women’s Club. She was an avid camper at Indian Brave Campground for over 25 years, enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader and crafter.
A retired L P N, Pat began her career at the former Rochester Hospital and retired from The Medical Center, Beaver following 28 years of employment.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 30th from 3 to 7 PM at the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Service, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made, if desired, in Pat’s memory to the Mission and Benevolence Fund of the church.
