Patricia R. Cavender, 58, of Monaca, passed away after a long battle with an illness on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Her passing occurred at her home.Born November 5, 1955, in Rochester, she was a daughter of Ray J. Sr., and Mildred Cavender. A graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1973, Patty continued her education by receiving an associate degree in accounting at CCBC and received her bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University. She was a field operations manager at Duquesne Light until her illness. A wonderful sister and loving aunt, Patty adored her three nieces and her nephew. She was an avid researcher of her family’s genealogy and enjoyed all genres of music, along with tending flowers in her garden. Patty attended St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Center Township.In addition to her parents she will be sadly missed by her sister, Linda Gregory and her husband, Joe, of Center Township; her brother, Ray Cavender Jr. and his wife, Katie, of Hopewell Township; three nieces, Shannon Cavender and Diane Gregory both of Monaca and Meghan Cavender of Hopewell Township; a nephew, Michael Gregory and his wife, Sarah, in Arizona. She is also survived by two aunts, Barbara (Clifford) Shrum of Monaca and Frances (Jim) Morgan of Waynesburg.Patty was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Cavender on May 17, 2007.Friends will be received Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of blessing service at 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca. Rev. Fr.
