Pauline A. Nield, 83, of Center Twp., passed away, Sunday morning, June 15, 2014, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.Born January 13, 1931, in Cumberland, Md., she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Severina (Delluomo) Giovinali.Pauline married her sweetheart, William E. Nield on Sept 8, 1951 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cumberland, Md. The couple relocated to Beaver County where they first lived in Aliquippa and in 1953, moved to their present home in Center Twp. where they raised five children.Pauline worked for several years as a secretary for Echo Point Dairy and later for Dr. Bontempo. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca and had been active in Christian Mothers years ago. Pauline was an avid bowler and Steelers fan and was a former member of the Center Twp #3 VFD ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling and ‘the cabin’. She is fondly remembered for being a great cook, who could prepare a delicious meal with whatever ingredients that were available and especially for her spaghetti sauce. Most of all, she is lovingly remembered as a wonderful mother who was devoted to her family and who will be sadly missed.She leaves her husband of 63 years, William E. Nield; five children, Christina Ann Nield of Center Twp.; Debra Lynn Benedum and her husband, Gary of Westerville, Ohio; Michael William Nield and his wife, Robin of Moon Twp.; Mark Phillip Nield and his wife, Linda of Westerville, Ohio and John David Nield of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren, Nicole, Brian and Cameron Nield, Andrew Borham and Jonathan Michael Nield; a brother, Mark Giovinali of Wiley Ford, WV and Anita Miller of Cumberland, Md., and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Fauss and Julia Linder.Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 17th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724) 728-4000, where parting prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
