Pauline Restak DeLuca, 82 of Center Township, devoted family woman and beloved teacher passed away peacefully at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden, on July 25, 2023. Born in Monaca, Pennsylvania, she dedicated her life to education and service, touching countless lives with her kindness and intelligence.
Pauline was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas C Restak and Pauline Palakovich Restak. She was the loving wife of the late James J DeLuca, who preceded her in death on January 4, 2017. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Deborah Lynn and husband, Houman Motaharian of Glen Rock, N J., and her beloved grandsons, Julien and Adrien. She was the sister of the late John Restak, Mary Ann Ciani, and Thomas Restak. Her sister in law, Margaret Restak, holds dear the fond memories of Pauline.
A proud alumnus of Mount Gallitzin High School, class of 1958, Pauline furthered her education at Duquesne University, where she earned her Bachelor of Education. She devoted her professional life to nurturing young minds as an elementary school teacher in the Rochester, Monaca, and Center Area School districts. Her last teaching assignment was at C J Mangin Elementary School in Monaca, where she taught 4th grade from 2002 to 2003. Her passion for education and her dedication to her students left a lasting impact, inspiring many to pursue their own paths of knowledge and discovery.
Beyond her professional life, Pauline was involved in her community. She was a devout member of Mary, Queen of Saints (St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church) and the Christian Mothers group. She was also a proud member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #58.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. Her warmth was a constant presence at gatherings, whether she was playing a competitive game of cards or cheering on her team at the bowling alley.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 27th from 3 -5 pm and 6-8 pm at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Service, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca where prayers will be offered on Friday at 9: 15 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church,
Entombment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rochester.
