Pauline (John) Gianantonio, 90 of Monaca died peacefully in the comfort of her home with her children and brother at her side on Friday afternoon, Oct. 9, 2015Born February 2, 1925 and raised in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Frances Olkowski.Pauline’s athletic ability was displayed on the Beaver Falls High School Girls’ Track Team. As a student, she entered and participated in the Girls’ Junior Olympics Track Competition winning several medals. Even at the age of 50, she could outrun some of her grandkids.Following graduation, she gained employment with Westinghouse Electric Co. in Vanport and remained there until to her marriage to Anthony Gianantonio on July 1, 1950.A devout member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, Pauline loved her church and her God and was a faithful volunteer for 15 years helping with the upkeep of the church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony on March 13, 1992. She was also preceded by three brothers, Charles, Stanley and Bernard.She leaves three children: Anthony Gianantonio, Frances Gianantonio and David Gianantonio and his wife, Patricia, all of Monaca. five grandchildren: A. Michael and his wife Crista, Kristin, Amber and her husband, Jeremy, Nathan and Dale and his wife, Natalie. Five great grandchildren: Brendan, Talan, Chase, Hailey and Lily. She also leaves a brother, Edward Olkowski and his wife, Rose of New Brighton.Friends will be received on Monday, Oct 12th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where parting prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a m in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Father Michael Ruffalo will be the celebrant.
