Pauline ?Pamphyllia? Scogna Pupi, 103 formerly of Monaca passed away on Sunday evening, Sept 4, 2011 at Villa St. Joseph of Baden where she has resided for the past several years.
Born July 29, 1908 in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Bernadino and Christina (Ciccozzi) Scogna who came to America from the Province of L?Aquila, Italy.
She leaves seven children: Gilda June Pietro and her husband, James of Pembroke Pines , FLA., Lenora ?Tootsie? Narvett of Center Twp., Louis Pupi and his wife, Toni of Monaca, Juliann Zuppe and her husband, Daniel of Midland, Roberta Dusold of Cincinnati, OH., Dr. Paul Anthony Pupi and his wife, Barbara of Beaver, Michael Vincent Pupi and his wife, Carol of Monaca. She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, a sister, Dr Emma (Valentino) Rocco of Beaver, 5 nephews and 1 niece.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pupi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis, a son Robert Dominic Pupi and 3 infant children. She was also preceded by two sons in law, George Narvett and Joseph Dusold; two sisters: Armelina Biondi and Dora Fabi and a brother, Baldwin Scogna.
Mrs Pupi was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist parish, Monaca and a member of the Christian Mothers and C.C.D.of the church as well as a lifetime and oldest living member of Monaca S.O.I. Loggia Columbo 1348. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting, and cherished her family above everything else.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Sept. 7th from 4-8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Father John L. McKenna will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1409 Pennsylvania Ave., Monaca or the Villa of St. Joseph of Baden, 1030 W. State St., Baden, PA 15005.
