Penelope S. ‘Penny’ Turley, 64, of Hopewell Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2015, at her residence.Born March 11, 1951, in Rochester, she was a daughter of Betty Gush of Aliquippa and the late Peter Gush. A graduate of Aliquippa High School, Penny previously worked in a variety of positions in the Aliquippa area. An avid camper she treasured frequent trips to Pymatuning Lake in the 1980’s and later at Guilford Lake near Rodgers, Ohio, where she also indulged in one of her favorite pastimes, fishing. Her love of animals showed in her compassion for all types of animals that she raised including dogs, cats, birds, snakes, goats and raccoons along with her beloved Labrador dogs, Bear and Maggie Mae. Penny was a former member of Hopewell VFW Post 637.In addition to her mother, Penny is survived by her husband, David W. Turley, whom she has been together with since 1983; four children, Tabatha Anderson, Amber Turley, Dave (Missy) Turley, Jr. and Sean Turley; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley DelTondo and Rebecca (Fred) Unis, two brothers, James (Karen) Gush and John (Shelly) Gush and numerous nieces and nephews.Along with her father she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Landry in 2011 and a very special nephew, John Gush.Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev.
