Philip A. Graeser, 90, of Monaca, was reunited with his late wife, Bettie, on December 23, 2011, at Passavant Homes, Zelienople. Born in Stockdale on July 12, 1921, Phil was a son of the late William and Mary Margaret Graeser, who relocated to Monaca when he was a child. He was married to Elizabeth ?Bettie? (Moritz) Graeser, who preceded him in death on November 10, 1995. Phil and his brothers owned and operated Graeser Brothers Monaca Auto Body Shop on the main street of Monaca for many years. He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca and a member of Knights of Columbus, Center Township. A World War II veteran Phil was a life member of American Legion Post 580, V.FW. Post 4653 and Beaver Valley Sportsman?s Club, all in Monaca, and a member of Monaca Turners. After retiring from business Phil continued to tinker with cars and also loved working in his yard.
He leaves to mourn his loss a sister, Marylou Sherry; three children, Phil Graeser and his wife, Wendy, Sherri Ray and her husband, Joe, and Mary Walker and her husband, Keith; grandchildren, Philip (Melissa) Graeser, Josh Graeser, Chris (Kayla) Graeser, April Graeser, Amanda Ray, Emily Ray, Jeff (Michelle) Walker, Stacey Walker, Grant Walker, David Shiveley and Brant Shiveley; great-grandchildren, Brady Haggerty, Madisyn Graeser, Ethan Shiveley and Dillon Utnehmer and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Phil was preceded in death by three brothers, William Graeser, Robert Graeser and Clarence ?Red? Graeser.
Friends will be received Tuesday, December 27th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where parting prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
