Phillip E. Dalbey, 81, of Moon Twp., formerly of North Sewickley Twp., passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, following a courageous battle with Parkinson?s Disease
Friends will be received on Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Westminister United Presbyterian Church 115 N. Mercer Ave., New Brighton, with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Clara (Hake) Dalbey; his first wife, Georgia; his brother, Ted and sister, Bonnie.
A loving and gentle man, he married the love of his life, Georgia (Kappel), and together they raised two children. After Georgia passed away in 1987, Phil met the second love of his life, Pat (Gallo), and treasured another 20 years.
Phil served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in North Africa. After graduating from Geneva College, he worked as a credit manager for Williams & Company and Lockhart Iron & Steel Company before retiring from Levinson Steel. He served a term as Chairman of the Board for the National Association of Credit Managers (NACM).
He was a lifelong member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in New Brighton, where he served as an elder.
Phil is survived by his wife, Pat; a daughter, Susan Brenner and her husband, John; a son, John Dalbey and his wife, Julie; two step-children, Gennaro Gallo and his wife, Gina, and Stephanie Hood and her husband, Tim; five grandchildren, Steven and Michael Brenner, Erin Dalbey, Gianna Gallo and Emily Hood; a brother, Andrew Dalbey and his wife, Marion; a sister-in-law, Josie (Dalbey) and many nieces and nephews who loved and respected him.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Valley Ambulance Authority, 3550 University Blvd, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
