Phyllis A. Koehler,87 a former resident of Monaca, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, at Rochester Manor. Born in Rochester, Phyllis was a daughter of the late Elroy and Jennie R. Marietta and a sister of the late Elroy (Patricia) Marietta, Jr. and Chuck Marietta. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest W. Koehler, who predeceased her in 2019. Phyllis was a devoted mother to her children: William E. (late Judith) Koehler, Richard L. (Peggy) Koehler, Marijane Koehler, and James E. Koehler. She was also a doting grandmother to Jenifer (Jeremiah) Johnson, Amy (Brad) Isenberg, Shannon Koehler, Carrie Brooks and Bill Fox, and a proud great-grandmother to Jake Johnson, Ian Isenberg, Cassidee Buckley, Lexy Ulizio, Zach Dobsch, and Shannon Glueck.
Phyllis was a proud graduate of Monaca High School, class of 1953, where she served as a majorette. Phyllis was a dedicated worker, having served at Rochester Hospital and later retiring from The Medical Center, Beaver, where she was employed in the radiology department as a file clerk.
Phyllis had a passion for baking, and she was known in her family and among friends for making the best apple pie. Her love for baking was just one of the many ways she expressed her love for her family. Known for her outgoing personality, Phyllis never met a stranger. She had a knack for making everyone feel welcomed and loved. She had a soft spot for pets, especially her cat, CeeCee, who brought her immense joy and companionship.
More than anything, Phyllis loved her family.
A private graveside service will take place at Union Cemetery, Monaca.
The family has suggested, those wishing to make a memorial contribution to please consider the Beaver County Humane Society.
