Phyllis Grosshans Mosca, 82, a lifelong resident of Monaca, died Tuesday morning, April 21, 2015, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township.Born February 19, 1933, in Rochester, she was the last surviving child born to the late Henry ‘Hank’ Grosshans and Margaret Deveney Grosshans. Phyllis was a graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1951. She worked for her father at Hank’s Frozen Custard from 1947-1956. Along with her husband, Red, she owned and operated Hank’s Frozen Custard in Center Township from 1958-1963. Phyllis was an inventory control clerk at Phoenix Glass Co. from 1977-1982. Since 1956 she enjoyed playing cards with Club ’51 card club, whose members were ladies in her graduating class. Phyllis was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca.Surviving are her son, Robert Mosca of Conifer, Colo.; two grandchildren, Kayla Marie Mild and Jason Martin Mild and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Mosca Mild; a brother, Henry A. Grosshans and four sisters, Irene Mlinarcik, Charlotte Kelly, Lois Patterson and Marguerite Hild.Friends are welcome to call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where prayers will be offered Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, with the Rev. Fr.
