Preston D. Scott, 76, of Aliquippa, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 10, 2007.
Born Nov. 22, 1930, in Shinnston, W.Va., he was a graduate of Coalton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, receiving the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Camp Stars and a Purple Heart Medal. Preston was employed by Securitas Security at U.S.G. in Aliquippa. He was also a retired employee of Teledyne Pittsburgh Tool Steel & Wire where he worked 38 years.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin L. Scott Jr. and Mary M. (MacAtee) Scott; a brother, Douglas Scott; a sister, Kathryn (Scott) Mersing and his daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Davis.
He leaves his loving wife, with whom he would have celebrated 53 years of marriage on July 17, 2007, Ethel (Welch) Scott; two sons and their families, Jody D. Scott of Rochester and his sons, Adam Scott and Lucas Scott, and Samuel S. Scott Sr. of White Township, and his children, Michelle Scott of Chippewa, Alyssa, Samuel, Jr., and Preston John Scott, all of White Township; his daughter Rebecca’s children, Edward Davis of Pittsburgh, Rebekah (Davis) McComas of Fussa, Japan; John Davis and Rachel (Davis) Frazier of West Mayfield; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preston was a member of the Aliquippa Baptist Temple where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the American Legion as a veteran.
Friends will be received today, July 13, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-775-0926), where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Ronald Cunningham, officiating
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Monaca.
Following the interment, a luncheon will be held at Valley Baptist Church, 1405 Eighth Ave., Beaver Falls.
