Ralph Armstrong, 89, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Monaca, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008.
Born December 26, 1918, he was a son of the late Ralph and Leona Hicks Armstrong. A veteran of the US Navy and US Coast Guard with 20 years of service, Ralph?s tours of duty included the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during World War II and the Korean War. He also served tours of duty at the North and South Poles on an ice-breaker. After his retirement Ralph settled in Seattle, Wash.
He leaves his wife, Jewel; a son, Malory; four daughters, Terri, Robin, Christine and Diane; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Johnston and her husband, John, of Center Twp.
In addition to his parents Ralph was preceded in death by a sister, Theo Donaldson and two brothers, Bill and Harry Armstrong.
Interment was at the National Cemetery, Kent, Wash.
