Raymond B. Glass, 74, of Brighton Township and formerly of Monaca, passed away, Monday, Oct. 31, 2011.
Born September 21, 1937, he was a son of the late Harry H. and Mary (Trombulak) Glass. A graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1955, Ray was a gifted athlete who received a football scholarship to Geneva College graduating in 1959. He was employed as an accountant for Crucible Steel, Midland. A devout Catholic he was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Beaver and was known to live his faith. Ray loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and hunting and feeding the birds and deer. He had a great admiration for Native American culture and its impact on America.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Barry Glass; two daughters, Kelly (Larry Davids) Colella and Robin (Jack) Smith; two brothers, George Glass and Harry J. Glass, Jr. and a longtime friend, Jerry Fink.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Nov 2nd, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where a blessing service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. His pastor, Rev. Fr. Bill Schwartz, will officiate.
Ray will be laid to rest beside his parents in The Beaver Cemetery following the blessing service.
