Raymond S. Martin, Jr., 63, formerly of Monaca, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at his home.Born May 25, 1952, in Rochester, he was a son of the late Raymond S. Sr. and Nancy L. (Climo) Martin.Ray was a retiree of the linen service department of Heritage Valley Beaver and was currently employed part time at the Beaver Valley Mall. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca, and was an avid Steelers fan.He is survived by a brother, Andrew (Amy) Martin of Monaca; three sisters, Libby Evans of Monaca, Nina (Tim) Ricker of Lettonia, Ohio, and Darla (Doug) Styles of Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and a close, longtime family friend, Frank Parone.Friends will be received on Monday, January 11th, from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca. I remember Ray from the Laundry. He was always smiling and polite. When we passed each other in the hallway, he never failed to say Hi to me. I ran into him at the Beaver Valley Mail not too long ago. And again, there he was smiling and being positive about his job and about life in general. He was a good person and will be remembered.
