Condolences to Richard's family and extended Business Times family.
I worked with him on many awards projects for clients over the years and appreciated his prompt response and helpful information.
My deepest condolences to Raquel & the Cerilli family. The world will never know another Richard Cerilli, he was truly one of a kind. He was an eclectic person who inspired me to think for myself, follow my interests, and to remain calm and collected no matter what life throws at you. I’ve always disliked taking advice from people, but not from Richard. There was something special about the way he always gave the perfect advice at the opportune time- some of which I’ll carry with me for a lifetime.
As saddened as I am by Richard’s passing, I can’t help but smile when thinking about the incredible stories that he told and the laughs that we shared over our years working together. In addition to being a world-class storyteller, Richard was unbelievably kind and caring. He always called to check up on me during these past few years when the world seemed uncertain.
Thank you, Richard. You will be deeply missed.
One of the best things about sponsoring PBT events was having the chance to work with Richard. Sending condolences to his family and friends.
Planning ahead is prudent. Call us now.
I am sorry to hear Richard passing away. When I arrived from Peru into Pittsburgh and asked him to meet the foreign entrepreneurs who were trying to grow their business here, he was always open to talk and write a story. He was a Welcome Pittsburgh shining light! God bless his soul.
Please accept my deepest sympathies and Prayers for Richard's sudden departure...may you all find Peace during this temporary separation and the Hope of being reunited for Eternity!

Raquel: You might not remember me, but I met Richard and you when he and I worked at Miramar Publishing in the early 80s. It was my first job out of journalism grad school, and Richard's office was next to mine. He was a fount of information about the company, trade magazines, the rental industry, and so much more! And boy did he love to talk - so much that sometimes I worried that I wasn't going to get my job done. I lost touch after I left the company, but it sounds like storytelling and being social continued to be his strong suits throughout his career. And from his longevity at the Pittsburg paper, it sounds like he found another place, like Miramar, where he happy to be part of the team for a very long time. I am so very sorry for your loss, please accept my condolences. All the best, Michelle

I was privileged to work with Richard many times over the years. He was a person I was always genuinely happy to see and chat with at events - a person who was interested and interesting - a rare combination. He will be so missed. My deepest sympathies to Raquel and his family.
To Raquel, and to all of Richard’s family: Steve and I both send you our most heartfelt condolences. Richard was a grand human being. He was an original thinker, open minded and open hearted. Creative. Kind. And so, so funny. I keep thinking of various wisecracks and observations he made over the years and chuckling. I feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with him, and deeply grateful for his friendship. He will always be an inspiration, his life a master class on living life to the fullest. Thank you, Richard!
Raquel, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved my time working for Richard at the PBT. He was always so kind to me and was a great mentor. I always appreciated that he came to watch one of my Gaelic Football games. He showed he really cared. I hope your many wonderful memories of him help you through this difficult time.
Nothing is more painful than losing someone you love so dearly. What I have left are some wonderful memories that will never fade from my heart. The loss of my Uncle Richard was so sudden I can feel the pain my Aunt is experiencing losing the love of her life. One memory keeps popping up in my mind is when I stayed with you in Puerto Rico and we went to Dorado Beach and it was so beautiful, you always took me to the best places. But my best memory of my uncle will always be how much love he bestowed upon my aunt , it was admirable. His love for my aunt never changed I saw it then and all through the years, with his funny jokes and his thoughtful gifts they all had a story. Stories that I will never forget. Missing you already
Richard was an incredibly kind and generous colleague -- he will be missed.
To those who knew you it’s a sad day. To those who didn’t they missed out on meeting quite a character who could relate to people of all backgrounds and all interests. You kept every conversation interesting.
Sending my sincere condolences to Richard's wife and family. I know the pain of sudden loss, such a difficult loss after a long marriage, you think you will grow old together. I was just a good high school friend and salutatorian to Richard's high school valedictorian Monaca class of 1971. (A bit of competition there!) He was so well thought of amongst our classmates and throughout his well-lived life, as was his dad, our principal Anthony. The best thing you can do is to be stron, live on, in celebration of his life and in thankfulness for the time you had.
Raquel, I was so sorry to hear about Richard. Jonathan and I always enjoyed our trips up to the farm and appreciated the hospitality, warmth and laughter that you and Richard always had to share. My thoughts are with you and all of Richard's friends and family. With love and sympathy, Michelle ( Shapiro) LeRoy

Richard was a great inspiration in his own right! I read all his accomplishments and had an occasional conversation with him at reunions. May the Lord comfort those who love and miss him! May his memories shine like a beacon in those lives he touched?
