Richard A. Holewski, 67, Freedom, was called home on Thursday evening, November 26, 2015. His passing was unexpected.Born August 16, 1948, he was a son of the late Celestine John and Bessie Marie (Dripps) Holewski. After graduating from Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1966, Richard attended Garfield Business School. He found employment as a crane repairman with the ‘Bull Gang’ at LTV Steel in Aliquippa before working at Total Transportation Corporation delivering air freight and currently at Renzenberger, Inc. Richard had previously bowled at Baden Bowl and Sheffield Lanes in Aliquippa. When his sons were younger, he coached Little League baseball and officiated Pop Warner football. Richard was a NASCAR fan and had a collection of lighthouses and angels.He will be sadly missed by his wife of 28 years, Carol Ann (Funkhouser) Holewski; his sons, Richard A. Holewski and his wife, Natalie, and Matthew C. Holewski and his wife, Jamie; two step-sons, David P. Henry and his wife, Elizabeth, and Scott M. Henry; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Lena, Noah, Isaac, James, Marcus, Matthew and Mary Jo; a great-grandson, Zion; a great-granddaughter, Emma Jane; a sister, Ginny (Jim) Coburn, several nieces and nephews and his two feline companions, Cody and Charlie.In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Elena Shee Holewski, and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann ‘Peggy’ and David Gallagher.Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca, where friends will gather at 10:15 a.m. to process to Hope Lutheran Church, 45 Maple Drive, Brighton Township for funeral services at 11 a.m. Rev.
