Richard M. Hansen

Richard M. Hansen, 87, of Ohioville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 6, 2022 after a brief illness.

He was the son of the late Victor and Lida (Emerick) Hansen, Richard was raised in Rochester, PA and was a graduate of Rochester High School and Geneva College. He was a very patriotic American, a proud veteran who served in the U S Air Force, and a longtime member of Wildwood Chapel, Aliquippa, PA. For many years, he worked at Crucible Steel, American Express Financial Advisors and was a driver for Enterprise Car Sales before retiring in 2018. For 20 years, he loved working at the Christmas in The Woods Festival each year. Richard enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing, and spending time with his family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia A. (Merrifield) Hansen, two children: Karen (Robert) Giles of Chillicothe, Ohio, and David (Kelly) Hansen of Pittsburgh. Four grandchildren: Evan (Kat) Hansen, Taylor (Derek) Dezelan, Lauren (Joey) Mendel and Natalie Giles. Two great grandchildren, Harper Ritchart and Walker Dezelan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine (Michael) Arbutina.

Friends will be received on Saturday, December 10th from noon until the time of services at 3 PM at Wildwood Chapel, 2850 Jack Street, Aliquippa, PA. Interment with military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit will take place on Monday, December 12th at 10:00 am at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made in Richard’s memory to Wildwood Chapel.
