Richard O. Reed, 86, of Koppel, formerly of Monaca, was reunited with his family on Friday, November 22, 2013.
Born May 9, 1927, in Antigo, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Herbert Henry and Clara Reed. Richard served his country during World War II with the US Navy. He was a retiree of Teledyne Pittsburgh Tool & Steel, Monaca. Richard was a man with a quick wit and delivered great one-liners and who loved bragging about his family. An avid fisherman, Richard enjoyed gardening, reading and carpentry.
He leaves his loving wife of 61 years, Carol J. (Patterson) Reed; three daughters, Karen L. (Darrell) Edwards of Lakeland, FL, Denise (Paul) Michael of Cranberry Twp. and Terri (Richard) Yeater of Ft. Wales, FL; seven grandchildren, Rae, Christopher, Peggy Jo, Danielle, Richard, Frank and Darrell, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren and four sisters, Doris Shulze, Janet Haggarty, Carol Forsythe and Joyce Brooks.
In addition to his parents Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Donald Reed.
The gathering for the family will be private.
