Rick A. Rambo, 71, of Monaca, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born on August 19, 1946, he was the son of Ray and Dorothy (Knox) Rambo. Rick served our country in the U S Navy beginning at the Great Lakes Naval Base then two years in Guam and Vietnam. After extensive survival training and testing, he wintered for over 13 months in Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica at McMurdo Sound International Station. A hard worker, Rick was the owner and operator of Mid Valley Auto Repair from 1984 to 2013 and an ASE State Certified Inspector with the ability to solve most any problem. Receiving automotive specialty training at Duquesne University, Rick taught at CCBC, State Safety Inspection classes as well as Powder Puff Mechanics. He also served as a Monaca Special Policeman and yet considered his family as his greatest accomplishment. Rick was a member and Elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the American Legion Post #580 and the Old Antarctic Explorers Association. His life was filled with service to others and service with a smile.

In 1970, Rick and his wife, Judith (Campbell) were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Rick also leaves five children; Rick (Anne) Rambo, Judd (Julie) Rambo, Jennai (Brian) Boswell, Joshua (Traci) Rambo, Jaren (Meghan) Rambo, fifteen grandchildren and a sister, Sandy(Charles) Forsythe.

He is now reunited with his parents and two granddaughters, Lilliana and Morgan Boswell.

Friends will be received on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 114 Church Drive, Center Township. Bishop Dean Nelson will officiate. Interment will follow with full military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

I miss you more than most of the family knows, you truly were an amazing man, I still haven't been back to the house, but I know that when I do go it could never be the same. I love you so much and hope you are doing better than you were here.

Rick was one of our very best customers. He started buying gold coins and artifacts in large quantities. Said he was assembling a treasure chest for this grandchildren. He often brought others to visit and buy from us. He seemed impervious to the cold as he most often wore a simple white shirt and blue jeans. He will be missed by all of us. Rick was a great mechanic. Helped people a lot with their cars.

Rick was a wonderful guy, I worked at GallagersMarket where he would come in and buy his bag of potato chips and his cash five lottery ticket, to his family my deepest sympathy for he will be truly missed.
