Robert McCaffrey, 92 of Center Township, passed away on February 16, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.Bob was born in Fayette County, a son of the late James and Anna (Walker) McCaffrey. He was a WW II veteran of the United States Navy and a retiree of J&L Steel. Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #580 both in Monaca. He particularly loved his family and enjoyed playing golf.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Bragg) McCaffrey, three sons, Robert (Maria) McCaffrey, Michael (Mary) McCaffrey, and William McCaffrey, a daughter, Kathleen (Charles) Cricks, four grandchildren; Michael John (Kelly) McCaffrey, Marisa McCaffrey, Laura McCaffrey, and Liliana McCaffrey, two great grandchildren; Summer McCaffrey and Jax McCaffrey.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.As per his request, there was no visitation and a private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, February 18, 2019.Memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to McGuire Memorial Foundation, 2119 Mercer Road, New Brighton, PA 15066.Arrangements were entrusted to Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.To share online condolences, get directions and other information, please visit simpsonfuneralhome.com.

I was a nepthew of Bob McCaffrey. I was the youngest of Timbo Thomas Paul McCaffrey. My birth was very late in the family history and did not know any of my uncles well. But late in like I did communicate with Bob. I was very impressed with the man. I asked many questions about my parents and others. It was clear that Uncle Bob would not say anything critical of another, very gracious in regards to others. I fully expect that the God of creation, has seen fit to reward him with the same level of grace. Wish I spoken with him one more time. Always planned to.
