Robert William ‘Bill’ Beckman, Sr. 72 of Monaca passed away Friday evening, February 12, 2021 at his residence.
Born at home in Monaca, he was a son of the late William and Martha Lucille (Davis) Beckman. He was the third generation to reside in the family homestead which as been in the family for 100 years this past December.
An outdoorsman and longtime member of the Monaca Rod and Gun Club, Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping and fishing. Most importantly, he cherished his grandchildren and great grandchild. Bill was a retiree of Penn DOT where he was employed for 34 years. During Bill’s time of employment, he made many lifelong friends along the way.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Lanigan Beckman; two daughters, Linda Beckman (Brian) Dishler and Billie Jo Beckman (Charles ‘Bear’) Blinn and a son, Robert W. ‘Boots’ Beckman II. Five grandchildren: Brian Dishler, Jr., Katelin Dishler, Cohen Beckman, Colton Beckman and Charlie ‘Cub’ Blinn. A great granddaughter, Emerson Vojnovich, and several nieces and nephews: Lee Lanigan, Heidi Lanigan, Tom Fordyce, Dave Fordyce, Jack Fordyce, Dawna Fordyce and Sharon Bonish. A lifelong friend, Louis (Annie) Walker.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Beckman, a sister, Lynda (Don) Fordyce, and a brother in law, Lee Lanigan.
As per Bill’s wishes, private burial will take place in Union Cemetery. Monaca.
