Born on January 31, 1936 in the Logstown area of Aliquippa, he was the son of the late Vujo (Louis) and Anna (Skorich) Polojac.Rody was employed with the former Jones & Laughlin Steel Works for ten years as an electrician with the Line & Wire Department. In 1964, he was employed at the Aliquippa School District where he served as a teacher and administrator for ten years. In 1974 he was employed as the Administrative Director for the proposed Beaver County Area Vocational Technical School (AVTS). During the three year period prior to the school’s opening in 1977, meetings were conducted with various community advisory boards, development of the programs to be offered, PDE approvals and the employment of the staff. Approximately 7,000 students graduated from the AVTS during his 30 years of employment. Rody received his B.S., Masters, Doctor’s (PhD), and Superintendent certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Blanche (Orlowski) Polojac, two daughters, Sandra and Paula Polojac, Monaca, sisters; Stella (Tootsie) Mraovich, Aliquippa, and Dorothy Bucan, Hopewell Township, brother, Robert Polojac, Monaca, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred Domladovac from Hopewell Township, Robert and Wanda Cercone, Freedom, Linda Polojac, Tampa, Florida, and Vicky Orlowski, Beaver Falls and very good friends, Anthony Mileca, Latrobe and Bill Sebastian, Monaca, and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred (Mimi) Domladovac, Hopewell Township and Marlene Polojac, Aliquippa, a brother, Samuel Polojac, Tampa Florida, and Bronko Polojac, Aliquippa. Brothers-in-law Nick Mraovich, Aliquippa, Eli Bucan, Hopewell Township, Edward and Robert Orlowski, both from Beaver Falls, Brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Helen Waskaski, Monaca, Father and Mother-in-law, Joseph and Nellie Orlowski, Beaver Falls and two very good friends, Robert George, Aliquippa and Dr. Robert Marziano, Beaver Falls.Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 11th from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM with Reverend Father Branislav Golic officiating in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Avenue, Monaca.
