Rose M. Petrella, 93, a lifelong resident of Monaca, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013.
Born September 25, 1919, in Beaver Falls, she was a daughter of the late Stephano and Carmella (DiFazio) Palombo. Rose was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two sisters, Mary Palombo and Helen Petrella and two sons-in-law, Daniel Green and Frank Zupcic, Jr.
She was the loving mother of five daughters and a son, Marie (Benjamin) Moxley, Stephanie (Paul) Hirt, Patsy Ann (Thomas) Stoner, Christina (Frank) Policicchio, Roseanne (the late Frank Jr.) Zupcic and Paul Petrella; seven granddaughters; five grandsons; 22 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Verrico.
Rose was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Monaca and a retiree of Monaca School District.
Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where parting prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
